For your basic and moderate DIY home and garden projects, they carry almost everything you'll need. Save the big box stores for your more serious projects. My only complaint, and this could because of the chronic homeless problem regardless of where you live in Portland, is you are required to surrender your backpack or large bag at the check out counter. I guess it's a sign of the times.
