  It is my experience that Fred's Sound of Music is not for Audiophiles but home theater. They are more attentive when you have money to spend but once spent unless you bring more money they become less attentive. I was sold many years ago by their shtick and bought my rig from them. Only after I paid in full several thousand dollars did I find out the truth, customer support is non-existent. You're an old friend until you have nothing left to spend. The store is too busy, associates trying to help everyone at once. If you aren't insistent and pushy you get left behind. Not my kind of experience. I too have purchased used equipment here and had it fail soon afterwards. If you are going to purchase equipment that will last and you will love, find the right place and the right people, while you wait save up cause it will cost more. If you do purchase used take it to a reputable repair shop or learn yourself. In the end your experience will be better. Fred's is a home theater and parts store. I feel bad for the sales because I know the life has been sucked out of them by dealing with the crowds. If you're an audiophile go elsewhere.

  I was berated to the point of tears by an employee standing out back. I was running late to a counseling appointment in the building next door and was trying to park ON THE STREET. Not even in their lot. I accidentally hit a parked car when backing up. Before I could even get out to assess the damage, this employee was in my face, telling me how to write a note for the owner of the other vehicle, like I'm stupid or something. He was going on and on and on about how everyone hits parked cars around here and then drives away and demands to see my DRIVER'S LICENSE and my INSURANCE! I tell him it's not HIS CAR and he's not THE POLICE, so no way. He instead takes pictures of me and my car WHILE I'M WRITING MY NOTE TO THE OWNER OF THE OTHER CAR and all the while keeps going on about how everyone hits parked cars and then drives away. He even talks about calling the police, even THOUGH I AM STAYING AND DEALING WITH WHAT I JUST DID LIKE AN ADULT. He starts loudly repeating my license plate number. I tell him to leave me alone multiple times. He is STILL GOING ON ABOUT ALL THIS AS I DRIVE AWAY AND SCREAM AT HIM IN FRUSTRATION. I would have gotten out and assessed the damage, and left a note anyway!!! Oh and I was going to counseling for severe depression and anxiety. I had been suicidal in the days leading up to this encounter. So this was the last thing I needed. Whoever that was: You have done more harm than good. Someone may get some insurance money to fix a scratch on their car. But it WAS only a scratch, and yet, as a result of your over-the-top behavior, I lost even MORE faith in humanity and the rest of my day was ruined. Glad I realized pretty quickly that you’re not remotely WORTH ending my life over. But do NOT bully people like that ever again. You don’t know what they’re going through and your behavior was completely unacceptable and unnecessary.
